Azure Service Management Failures - Resolved

SUMMARY OF IMPACT: Between 22:15 on 26 Jun 2018 and 06:20 UTC on 27 Jun 2018, a subset of customers may have experienced timeouts or failures when attempting to perform service management operations on their API Management, App Service, Microsoft Stream, Media Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Search, Azure Active Directory B2C, Azure IoT hubs, Azure Batch, Event Hubs and Service Bus services in Azure. In addition, some customers may have experienced connection failures to the Azure Portal. Some services with a reliance on triggers from service management calls may have seen failures for running instances.PRELIMINARY ROOT CAUSE: Engineers identified a service management API code configuration that impacted background services. This was causing service management requests to fail for a subset of customers.MITIGATION: Engineers performed a rollback of the recent deployment task to mitigate the issue.NEXT STEPS: Engineers will continue to investigate to establish the full root cause and prevent future occurrences.

Summary of impact: Between 21:33 and 23:27 UTC on 09 Jun 2018, a very limited subset of customers experienced issues signing into or accessing Azure Active Directory in the Europe regions.Preliminary root cause: Engineers identified networking issues within and connecting to specific datacenters, preventing AAD requests from connecting to backend services.Mitigation: Engineers performed a failover of the AAD service to alternate datacenter, to mitigate the issue for customers. Redis Cache, and HDInsight. The underlying network infrastructure event has been mitigated as of 01:24 UTC on 9th June, 2016. Other impacted services continue to recover and customers will continue to see improved service availability as engineers continue to mitigate residual impacts. Microsoft Azure portal, Traffic Manager, Web App- Multiple Regions - Partial Service Interruption

SUMMARY OF IMPACT: Between 15:04 and 17:00 UTC on 15 Apr 2016 customers may have experienced an error when attempting to login to their portal from https://portal.azure.com. Primary impact was to customers in North America. Also, customers using MACHIINE LEARNING may have experienced an error when attempting to reach the landing pages at https://studio.azureml.net and https://studioapi.azureml.net. Customers using Traffic Manager in front of their Web Apps, Virtual Machine or Cloud Services may have experienced a connection timeout or a connection reset. Other impacted services included Azure Operational Insights, Azure Resource Manager, AppInsights, and Azure Automation. PRELIMINARY ROOT CAUSE: A recent deployment with the Traffic Manager services unexpectedly resulted in DNS responses not being returned. ITIGATION: Azure Engineers have rolled back the deployment to return services to a healthy state. NEXT STEPS: Review the infrastructure update process to prevent reoccurrences of this scenario.
